Flexible Manipulation Module
A lightweight, patent-protected 6-DOF robotic arm module with series-elastic actuation — safe enough to work side-by-side with humans, dexterous enough for real household tasks.
CareArm X is the physical extension of HomeGuard Pro — or a standalone manipulation module that can be mounted to walls, chairs, or third-party mobile platforms. Its series-elastic actuators distribute torque sensing across all six joints, detecting contact and limiting force in real time at 1 kHz.
Core IP protected under US Patent App. 18/XXX,003 (Granted 2025), the CareArm X represents a fundamental advance in safe, affordable robotic manipulation for non-industrial environments.
A custom "grasp-anything" neural model identifies graspable regions on novel objects without pre-training. Success rate >92% on household objects in unstructured settings.
Distributed force-torque sensing limits contact force to <5 N at any joint. Collision response in <8 ms — faster than human pain reaction. ISO 10218 compliant.
Tool-change in under 30 seconds. Available end-effectors: parallel gripper (50 mm stroke), vacuum suction cup (500 g), soft biomimetic hand (fragile objects), spatula kit.
Magnetic docking connector with power and data bus. HomeGuard Pro auto-detects CareArm X, loads task library, and enables manipulation-extended health-care workflows.
Full ROS2 Humble support with MoveIt2 integration. REST API for third-party task definition. Python SDK for rapid custom task scripting without C++ expertise.
Kinesthetic teaching mode lets caregivers demonstrate tasks by guiding the arm. Imitation learning stores and replicates the motion across different object positions.

CareArm X is deployed in home care environments and research institutions as a plug-and-play manipulation module.
Bundled with HomeGuard Pro, CareArm X enabled elderly residents to receive physical assistance with meal preparation, object retrieval, and personal hygiene support without caregiver visits.
Three CareArm X modules integrated with OSU's existing mobile platforms via ROS2. Researchers used the learning-from-demonstration feature to rapidly prototype novel manipulation tasks.
CareArm X used as a low-force assistive device in post-stroke upper limb rehabilitation protocols. The kinesthetic teaching mode let therapists record custom exercise patterns for each patient.
CareArm X ships with ROS2 SDK, REST API documentation, and 12-month hardware warranty. Python SDK and developer support included in all tiers.
